The project
Preem has started a project involving the relocation of the control room operations from the existing control room into a new built control room building. The building will be placed outside the danger zone for any gas cloud explosion initiated by the existing process area. The building will be carried out in two levels with a total area of approx. 2400m2.
Planned completion date of the new control room building is set to March 31st 2011.
The assignment
COWI has received an order to perform the detailed design of the new control room building at Preem in Gothenburg. The design of the building will be finished until mid-2010. The assignment will primarily employ a dozen resources with the following skills, Architect, Construction, Electricity, Land, and Project Management.
COWI Management is responsible for project management and planning.
Two additional sub-projects will be launched in autumn 2010 when the projects for surrounding infrastructure and the transfer of emergency stop panels to the new building will be implemented.
