The project
Lantmännen Agroetanol in Norrköping has built a new production facility of 150 000 m3 of fuel ethanol annually with grain as raw material. The facility will also process the waste product "drank" into animal feed. The expansion involves a four times increase in production capacity, energy optimization and the output of ethanol produced per volume of raw materials are increased. The total investment amounts to approximately SEK 1,4 billion. In May 2009 Lantmannen opened its new line of ethanol production in Norrköping. The ethanol plant is one of the most modern and climate efficient in the world.
The assignment
COWI Management has been responsible for project from feasibility study to start of production. Our responsibility was project management, planning, coordination and monitoring, procurement and responsibility for the site management. The assignment was carried out together with COWI AB (former FB Engineering).
