Project Management
COWI Management is active within the business areas of industry, buildings & properties and infrastructure. Our customers' choice of words, languages and standards are different but the project management methodology are often similar. In some cases people with specific technology skills are required and therefore we have project managers, planning engineers and buyers with excellence competence in all our market areas.
Our areas of expertise includes security- and availability thinking from the process industry and also knowledge of the demanding standards of quality- and documentation structure e.g. in the pharmaceutical and nuclear industries.
A project plan (sometimes called an assignment plan) is also a quality plan. The project plan is the central planning- and management tool for both project- and implementation phases. In consultation with the client we introduce quality- and environmental awareness in the project from the start, and all this are formulated and communicated through the project plan.
The plan sets out our extent and time but also limits the level of quality, staffing, finances and control and audit activities - for example interface control, project control and review of the briefs and project documents.
At the start of the project, we are creating an overview of environmental, occupational health and safety and we agree with the client how these aspects should be handled in the project.
Our business system that we call IMPROVE describes all steps of an investment project all phases. Our project management methodology is based on "best practices" described in PMBOK® (Project Management Body of Knowledge) issued by Project Management Institute (PMI). COWI Management offers education in project management methodology and project planning. We offer our customers business development services that pose a greater ability and organization of project implementation.
COWI Management provides project managers, planning engineers, cost estimators, purchasers, but also site managers and construction / installing managers. We can through our partners within COWI deliver skilled project aid systems such as portfolio- and project planning, risk management, document management and cost calculations.
